Hold onto your fuel bills, India—Nissan just added more spice to its sustainability recipe! After a successful Phase 1 rollout that left Delhi-NCR, Maharashtra, and a bunch of southern states asking for more, the company has now hit the gas (quite literally) on Phase 2 of its CNG retrofitment plan for the New Nissan Magnite. And this time, the eco-friendly revolution drives into Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Tamil Nadu.
That’s right: the Magnite is now CNG-ified and certified across 13 states. All for the price of just ₹74,999. Which is roughly the same as a long weekend trip to Goa—or one major service at an upscale German car dealership.
Installed using a government-homologated kit by certified third-party vendor Motozen (not a yoga app, but close—your wallet will definitely feel more zen), the CNG option is now available for all New Magnite SUVs equipped with the 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine and manual transmission. And yes, it comes with a 3-year or 1 lakh kilometre warranty, so you can breathe easy while your car breathes methane.
Still worried about space? Don’t be. With a segment-best 336-litre boot, the Magnite has room for your gas and your ghoomna (roadtrip) too.
Customer feedback post Phase 1 suggests improved fuel economy over the standard petrol variant—an actual win-win in these fuel-fluctuation times. And unlike typical “jugaad” kits from the local corner mechanic, this one’s been designed by grown-ups, blessed by the government, and tested by engineers who probably never eat oily food near test vehicles.
Saurabh Vatsa, MD of Nissan Motor India, added with flair:
“The New Nissan Magnite continues to be a key growth driver for us in India… The Phase 2 rollout reflects both the growing demand for cleaner mobility and our intent to offer credible, high-quality alternatives without compromising on the core strengths of the Magnite.”
Translation: We’re giving India more bang for its buck without messing up the style or safety.
So if you’re from Bhopal, Ranchi, Madurai or anywhere in between, your Magnite can now go CNG and still rock its bold looks, 20+ first/best-in-segment features, 55+ safety systems, and road presence that says “I’m saving money and the planet.”
