Forging Ahead: Bharat Forge Adds More Horsepower with AAM India Buyout!

Pune-based powerhouse seals ₹746 crore deal, revs up global OEM game with new mobility muscle.

Pune: In a move that’s less “merger blues” and more “forging new legends,” Bharat Forge Limited (BFL) has officially wrapped up its acquisition of AAM India Manufacturing Private Limited — and with it, added some serious torque to its global ambitions.

Originally announced back in October 2024, and green-lit by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) this April, the deal clocks in at an equity value of ₹7,464.6 million. What’s more, AAM India comes with ₹1,894.8 million in cash on its books — talk about bringing your own lunch to the party.

The final cheque, however, is still subject to a bit of post-race pit stop tinkering, with working capital adjustments due as of June 30, 2025.

A deal forged in strategic ambition

Bharat Forge, already an industry juggernaut with a metallurgical playbook thicker than a Mahabharata volume, is eyeing big gains from the acquisition. With AAM India’s stronghold in supplying automotive components to both legacy OEMs and future-forward mobility players, this is less a buyout and more a bolt-on of brilliance.

Global scale meets local grit

BFL’s current presence spans 18 manufacturing locations across five countries — and now with AAM India in its garage, the Pune-based titan isn’t just building components, it’s building momentum.

From aerospace to oil rigs, from mining to defense, BFL has been quietly crafting the skeleton of modern industrial infrastructure. With this acquisition, however, the company seems to be saying, “Why whisper, when you can thunder?”

What’s next?

Well, with nearly ₹1,900 million of onboard cash from AAM India now added to BFL’s war chest, the group is gearing up for future growth. Whether that’s EV platforms, autonomous-ready systems, or defense tech — it’s clear Bharat Forge isn’t just riding the mobility revolution. It’s engineering it.

With this high-octane acquisition, Bharat Forge is proving once again that in the world of global manufacturing, it’s not just about horsepower — it’s about smart power, strategic power, and above all, forged-in-India power.
