Hyundai Creta Tops India’s Car Charts Again, Celebrates 10 Years with a Sales Mic Drop

Gurugram:
In a plot twist that surprises absolutely no one (except maybe rival carmakers), the Undisputed. Ultimate. Undefeated. Hyundai Creta has emerged as India’s highest-selling passenger vehicle for June 2025, clocking 15,786 units and leaving other SUVs in the rearview mirror — again.

Yes, the Creta has done it thrice already this year — in March, April, and now June — and if there were a hat-trick trophy for sales, it would have “Creta” engraved permanently.

This latest milestone also doubles up as a birthday bash, as the Creta turns 10 years old in India — a decade of mid-size SUV dominance where the segment is now affectionately nicknamed the ‘Creta segment’. (No, really.)

“Creta is not just a product, it is an emotion for over 1.2 million Indian families,” said Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and COO, HMIL. “It’s basically the SRK of SUVs — ageing like fine wine and still the crowd favourite!”

Creta’s journey has been one of evolution, revolution, and occasional sunroof selfies. Whether navigating city traffic or tackling long highway journeys, the Creta has been more dependable than your phone’s OTP. And now, with the launch of the Hyundai Creta Electric, it’s also becoming shockingly eco-friendly.

Over the past decade, it’s racked up accolades, upgraded its tech, upped its safety game, and redefined urban mobility — all while staying on top of the sales pyramid like an SUV-shaped cherry on top.

So, as Hyundai pops the metaphorical bubbly and cuts a birthday cake shaped like a front grille, one thing’s clear: The Creta isn’t going anywhere… except maybe to more Indian homes.
