Bentley Gets A Wing-lift: The Flying ‘B’ Just Got Sharper Than Your British Barber

Only the fifth major logo update in Bentley’s 106-year history, the new ‘Winged B’ prepares to swoop into the future with style, symmetry, and a dash of falcon-like flair

Crewe – Bentley Motors has flapped open a new chapter in its storied journey by unveiling a reimagined version of its iconic ‘Winged B’ emblem – and no, it’s not just a fancy new badge to slap on a bonnet. It’s a bold signal of where the brand is headed – sharper, cleaner, more digital-friendly, and possibly aerodynamic enough to fly off the grille (don’t try this at home).

This is only the fifth redesign of the logo since W.O. Bentley first bolted wings to a “B” back in 1919. The 2025 version, dreamt up in-house by the brand’s design team under the stewardship of Robin Page, represents more than just a facelift – it’s Bentley’s equivalent of Botox, Pilates, and a juice cleanse, all rolled into one elegant redesign.

And if you think it’s just a logo, Bentley would like to politely disagree. This “Winged B” isn’t a graphic—it’s a statement. Crafted like a luxury watch, it has diamond-inspired wing textures, bevelled glass edges, and a floating ‘B’ jewel at the centre so classy, it could have its own valet.

🦅 Peregrine Falcon Wings, Hold the Feathers

Gone are the gentle curves of yesteryear. The new wings have been sharpened to echo the silhouette of a Peregrine Falcon in mid-dive, which is fitting—Bentley is aiming to drop jaws at 200 mph. Lower feathers beneath the emblem? Gone. The result? A cleaner, sleeker logo that would look just as good etched on a yacht as it does glowing on a future electric Bentley spaceship (coming soon, we assume).

Page explains, “If a luxury brand is the product of the stories it has created, then its emblem is its signature.” By that logic, this signature just got laser-engraved in platinum.

🎨 Meet the Artist, Young Nam

In a twist worthy of a design reality show, Bentley didn’t just assign the task to one person. A logo design competition was held among the internal team. The winning sketch? Courtesy of Young Nam from the Interior Design team. His winning idea was sculpted into reality like Michelangelo working on a “B” instead of a David.

🏛 A Winged Walk Through History

  • 1919: Motoring artist F. Gordon Crosby first penned the original asymmetric design with mismatched feathers – partly for visual impact, partly to confuse counterfeiters.
  • 1931: Rolls-Royce’s ownership brought symmetrical order to the wings. Art deco meets corporate suit.
  • 1990s & 2002: With the Continental GT and a new millennium, the wings gained some of their asymmetric swagger back, thanks to VW Group’s revival.
  • 2025: As Bentley gears up for an electric, futuristic lineup, the new Winged B sheds its fluff and grows angular steel feathers.

🎉 Double Debut Incoming

The new Winged B will officially stretch its wings on 7 July 2025, gracing the entrance of Bentley’s spanking-new, three-storey Design Studio in Crewe. A day later, 8 July, the brand will reveal a concept car bearing the new emblem – a machine that’s not quite production-ready, but ready enough to make your current garage feel outdated.

And in case you’re wondering – no, it doesn’t come with actual wings. Not yet.

Bentley’s new Winged B is not just a logo refresh – it’s the luxury equivalent of a royal crest getting a futuristic tattoo. And if this is what their badge looks like now, we can’t wait to see what the car looks like when it lands on 8 July. One thing’s for sure – Bentley’s flying into the future, and it’s not flapping around.
